Blueberry, Blackberry & Lemon Puree

This berry purée is packed with antioxidants and bright flavor. Blueberries and blackberries create a rich, vibrant base, while a tiny squeeze of lemon lifts the fruit and enhances its natural sweetness. Here's how to whip up this 5 minute recipe in Babycook

Ingredients

  • ½ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • A few drops of fresh lemon juice


Instructions 

1. Prep the berries: Rinse fresh berries thoroughly. If using frozen berries, no need to thaw.

2. Add water to the reservoir: Fill the Babycook water reservoir to Level 1.
(Berries soften quickly and require minimal steaming.)

3. Steam: Place the blueberries and blackberries into the steaming basket and run one steam cycle.

4. Blend: Transfer the steamed berries to the blending bowl. Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Blend until smooth, adding small amounts of the reserved cooking liquid as needed to achieve your desired consistency.

 

Texture Tips

  • For younger babies: Blend completely smooth and strain if you’d like to remove any remaining berry seeds.
  • For older babies: Leave slightly thicker for more texture.
