Bright, silky, and gently aromatic, this mango purée introduces baby to subtle layers of flavor. Naturally sweet mango balanced with a hint of fresh ginger and a squeeze of lime.
Ingredients
-
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
-
A very small piece of fresh ginger (about ¼ teaspoon finely grated)
-
A tiny squeeze of fresh lime juice (a few drops)
Instructions
1. Prep the mango. Peel and remove the pit. Dice the mango into small cubes for even steaming.
2. Add water to the reservoir. Fill the Babycook water reservoir to Level 1.
(Mango is naturally soft and high in water, so it requires minimal steam time.)
3. Steam! Place diced mango into the steaming basket and cook until the cycle completes.
4. Blending time. Transfer the steamed mango to the blending bowl (reserve the cooking liquid). Add the finely grated ginger and a few drops of fresh lime juice.
5. Blend until smooth, adding small amounts of the reserved cooking liquid as needed to reach your desired consistency.
Age & Safety Notes
-
Ginger should be used very sparingly. Just enough to gently introduce flavor, not spice.
-
Lime adds brightness but should be minimal, especially for first exposures.
-
Always consult your pediatrician regarding introducing new ingredients.
This purée is a beautiful example of building baby’s palate early. Naturally sweet, softly layered, and freshly prepared.
