French Green Bean, Butter and Potato Puree

French Green Bean, Butter and Potato Puree

Some purées taste like a hug in a bowl, and this one is exactly that. Tender green beans bring a soft, earthy sweetness, potato lends its familiar creaminess, and a small knob of butter ties it all together with a rich, velvety finish bébé will lean right into. Just three ingredients and a few minutes of blending stand between you and this French classic.

Watch how it's done in the video below. 👇

Ingredients

(Makes about 1 cup / 4–5 servings)

  • 1 small potato (about 200 g), peeled and diced
  • A generous handful of green beans (about 100 g), trimmed and cut into pieces
  • 1 small knob of butter (about 1 tsp)
  • Water, breast milk, or formula, to thin as needed

Let's Purée

  1. Peel and dice the potato, then trim the green beans and cut into smaller pieces.
  2. Steam both together on water level 3, until very tender and easily pierced with a fork.
  3. Transfer to the blending bowl, adding the knob of butter while everything is still warm so it melts in smoothly.
  4. Blend until silky smooth, adding a splash of water, breast milk, or formula to reach the right consistency for baby's stage.
  5. Cool to a safe temperature before serving to bébé.

As always, introduce new foods one at a time and watch for any reactions, and check with your pediatrician about timing and any known allergies before serving.
